Watch: Suryakumar Yadav Seeks Blessings At Shirdi's Saibaba Temple With Wife Devisha
Suryakumar Yadav and his wife performed rituals with the help of a few priests at Shirdi's Saibaba Temple.
India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and his wife Devisha Shetty recently visited Shirdi to offer prayers at the Sai Baba temple. In a video going viral, the couple was spotted seeking blessings at the famous shrine in Maharashtra. They also performed some rituals with the help of a few priests. After the temple visit, Surya and Devisha were felicitated by Shri Saibaba Sansthan’s Chief Executive Officer Goraksh Gadilkar. Public Relations Officer Tushar Shelke and Security Officer Rohidas Mali also attended the event.
Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust dropped a video on Instagram where Surya and Devisha were seen entering the temple premises. Joined by some security personnel, the pair went directly to the sanctum sanctorum. They were captured standing in front of the idol of Saibaba with folded hands. “Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav visited Shri Saibaba Samadhi," read the caption of the post.

Suryakumar Yadav is currently gearing up for a home T20I series against England. The five-match assignment is slated to begin on January 22. Surya last played for India in November 2024. He led the Men in Blue to beat South Africa in a four-match T20I series. India currently remain at the top of the ICC T20I rankings with a 268 rating while Australia and England hold the second and third spots respectively.
Meanwhile, Surya was last seen in action in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. As part of the Mumbai team, the right-handed batter featured in five matches in the domestic tournament. He, however, failed to match the expectations and managed only 38 runs in four innings including two ducks.
Mumbai also had a dismal campaign. They were unable to qualify for the knockout stage after finishing third in Group B with 20 points. Mumbai emerged victorious in five of their seven league matches.
Surya will be keen to make a strong statement in the upcoming T20I series against England. He is the third-highest scorer for India in the shortest format after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Since his debut in 2021, Surya has struck 2570 runs in 78 T20Is at an average of over 40. He had a key role in India’s second T20 World Cup victory in Barbados last year.
